Julius Caesar and Abraham Lincoln were two powerful men that had lived in different time periods. Although they had different backgrounds and stories, they were alike in many ways as well. Both men wanted to do what seemed right in their eyes, but cause a great conflict while doing so. Caesar was considered the most famous man not only in Italy but in Europe as well during the 1st century B.C. He had taken over many countries in war and gave money to the poor. Abraham Lincoln was strongly against slavery in America during the 1800’s. He was the leader of the North during the Civil War and helped them to gain victory. Both men certainly left on a huge impact on world history as we know it. Julius Caesar was a Roman politician who was born on July 13th, 100 B.C. He gained power and support through an alliance with powerful Roman senators. Caesar wanted even more power over Europe than what he already had. He had fought in many wars in Europe to gain more land. The wars included the Gallic War and the Battle of Alesia. He conquered modern-day Egypt, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Northern Italy, and part of Britain. His reign began Imperialism in the newly formed Roman Empire that had not lasted long. His war against Pompey started to raise a few eyebrows and people started to dislike him. They were afraid that he may become a tyrant if he becomes too powerful.
