Chris Kyle, U.S. Navy SEAL is known not only “The Legend” and “The devil” but the hero who had the most Sniper kills in United States military. The autobiography states Chris Kyle being the most lethal sniper in U.S. History. With over 100 recorded kills within the four tours in the Iraq War. The purpose of The autobiography of Chris Kyle is to acknowledge the dangerous, brave and crazy life of an American Sniper. From 1999 to 2009 Chris Kyle has come close to death various times but had also saved countless lives.

Could you imagine leaving your country for a dangerous war zone that could potentially result in you coming home in a casket? Most likely thats a no, considering now only one percent of the population serves in the Unites States Armed Forces. Chris Kyle has been a big part of what convinces me to serve in the military, and serve with pride.

In the book, “The Sniper” the sniper is a guy battling in the middle of war. He decides to take a risk while being watched, and get shot by his enemy. soon, the sniper gets back up on his feet and starts fighting back. The sniper grabbed his gun and is motivated to kill his enemy.
“Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.” President John Fitzgerald Kennedy said to the United Nations General Assembly, on September 25th, 1961. This quote is saying that the killing of soldiers in war will soon destroy all. This relates to both stories because both soldiers regretted killing someone.
Adversity is having difficulties or a misfortune, people have misfortune if they can not afford education, food or other things that people need in life. The Sniper by Liam O’Flaherty is about a man who was scouting for the enemy and was wounded, later he was shot in the forearm and killed the enemy, while he was walking away he realized he had killed his brother. Trouble with Geniuses, Part II by Malcolm Gladwell was about a young man named Chris Langan who was a very gifted man who was offered a full scholarship to Reed University but failed to sign up. But did not let the adversity take him down. Adversity is in a lot of stories, it is also in these two stories.
This violence was brought about by assumption, when really they were brothers all along. The sniper realizes, and regrets his actions at the end. War and conflict is about protecting loved ones, and about defending your rights and liberties, but we must be careful not to let these conflicts blind our minds with assumption, or violence will destroy
After he shot and killed the enemy sniper, he wanted to be sure he killed him so he went to see him. He got shot at by machine guns. When the firing stopped, he went to the body. The third person single vision point of view of a tough sniper fighting a civil war enemy, in Liam O’Flaherty’s “The Sniper,” plays with the reader’s emotions throughout the story. He employs third person single vision point of view to tell the sniper’s intense adventure from an outside narrator who has access to the mind of the protagonist. O’Flaherty chose third person single vision POV because distancing the reader is the only way to develop a tough protagonist that the reader can be intimate with, taking into account his limited intellectual skills. Having sensory details about the sniper from the single vision third person POV narrator in addition to knowing the protagonist 's thoughts while combating an enemy, allows O’Flaherty to characterize “The Sniper” into a hefty person. Some may argue, writing in first person point of view would have created a tough protagonist because they would see it through the eyes of the sniper who they automatically assume is resilient.
In the short story The Sniper, Liam O’Flaherty recounts a story of an Irish sniper fighting for the republican army during the Irish Civil War. He wrote this short story based on his experience with time at war. Liam o’flaherty illustrates how war can reduce the value of family and human lives, betrayal, and suspense. In this essay I will be discussing these major themes as well as comparing this story to books such as The Odyssey and others containing similar themes. This essay also will discuss how suspense is used in Liam O’Flaherty’s The Sniper.
The world has changed so much, what was once at the bottom of the ocean are now some of the tallest points on earth. The Victorian view of life was accepted as a God creating a world in one week. This changed once the queen saw the orangutan and described it as “undeniable human.” No one could understand how new species could appear similar to those that were extinct. An expedition that Charles Darwin went on ending up changing how we view life as we know it today.
