The world has changed so much, what was once at the bottom of the ocean are now some of the tallest points on earth. The Victorian view of life was accepted as a God creating a world in one week. This changed once the queen saw the orangutan and described it as “undeniable human.” No one could understand how new species could appear similar to those that were extinct. An expedition that Charles Darwin went on ending up changing how we view life as we know it today.
While Charles Darwin was aboard the Beagle he was exploring most of South American in the Galápagos Islands. While he was there he explored many species of birds, lizards, and ocean animals making note of the features/variations they had. The curious Darwin was given a book called; “Principles of Geology” helped him further his understanding of why there were so many variations of animals. While in South America he found fossilized shells on the Andes, this discovery went hand in hand with the book given to

The idea of life on Earth is only explained by new species replacing the old species that couldn’t adapt. Natural selection is what Darwin named this theory. Natural selection is when a species with a certain characteristic that help them survive in their habitat produce offspring. In the wild, if you don’t use it you lose it. For example, if a species is divided in two and their habitats vary each specifies will differ as a way of survival. Changes in natural selection causes new species to not be able to mate with the older ones. Natural selection works because it produces more species than an environment can handle (survival of the fittest). Sex helps us create this variety. When females chose a male they chose the best which gives them more offspring. Females are the ones that drive sex and natural
