Charles Darwin theory is basically based on the idea that species will compete to survive, and favourable from one generation to the next.Darwin did say that “evolution took place by a process of natural selection or survival of the fittest”(Charles Darwin). All this basically means is that animals and plants that were the strongest or able to survive were able to pass on their trait of their offspring, unfortunately the animals and plants that weren’t didn’t get the chance to reproduce because they died off rather quickly.Over all the years of life on Earth, the animals and plants have evolved.

Have you wonder who even thought of this idea? Well Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace came too the same conclusion, but Wallace was not …show more content…

Joseph Dalton Hooker and Charles Lyell arranged for both Darwin and Wallace theory to presented to a meeting o f the linnean society.Darwin was working on a major book on evolution and used that book to develop “On the Origins of Species”,it was published in 1859.Wallace obivisily continued to travel around the world and continue his studies. His was focused on the importance of …show more content…

Even though Darwin’s theory is a relatively young archetype, his evolutionary worldview is self is as old as antiquity. An Ancient Greek philosopher named Anaximander postulated the development of life from non-life and the evolutionary descent from man to animal. All Charles Darwin did was bring something we to the old philosophy a mechanism which is “natural selection.”

Natural selection acts too preserve minor advantages in the genetic mutations. For example if a member of a certain species develop a mutation such as wings and learned how to fly.Its offspring will most likely get the same trait and pass it on and it would go through the generations. The only downfall of that would be that some members of the species would die out.It would start slow at first then it would gradually increase, to the point were only the winged member of the species would love and evolve into something even more
