Introduction

Charles Darwin was seen as the Father of Evolution, his beliefs and outlooks on the way things were created seemed to be true, and up to this day people still study and believe in evolution. Evolution is the belief that different organisms developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of earth. It is the gradual development of something from a simple to complex form.

The Beagle was a 10-gun brig, 242 tons and was only 90 feet long. This kind of ship carried the nickname “coffin” because of its tendency to sink in rough seas. Darwin practically begged his Father to let him go, and after multiple fails, he finally went to his Uncle Jos. He told his uncle about the journey, and Jos was quick to consult with Darwin’s Father. Robert ended up agreeing, and soon enough, Charles was off exploring islands. John Henslow recommended Darwin as the best-qualified person for the journey to the Captain, Robert Fitzroy. Fitzroy almost rejected Charles because of the shape of his nose. The deposits consisted of a petrified forest. Darwin thought that this part of the South American continent had once been under water and was uplifted more than 7000 feet. Darwin also survived an earthquake in Valdivia which destroyed the city of Concepcion on February 20th, 1835. While in Argentina, Darwin fell terribly ill. He developed a fever that was thought to be caused by the bite of a benchuga bug. (A protozoan parasite that causes Chagas’s Disease) We are currently learning about viruses that transfer from animals to humans, and this is one of the viruses that does indeed infect animals and humans. Some people thought that this disease was the cause of Darwin’s illness, but others assumed it was stress, because Darwin’s health increased after the acceptance of his
