Certain social problems could be considered more significant than others based on societies awareness on the topic, and the transformation process used to engage society formulating the topic into a public issue. For instance, consider the social problem of AIDS. This issue was one that gradually gained momentum based on media, social networks and celebrity advocates. The advocates and activists rallied to draw attention to the growing issue, therefore acknowledging the social problem within society.
