Let’s break out the tar and feathers, because we’re talking about the Sons of Liberty! The Sons of Liberty were a group of affluent, substantial men who started the revolution, that leads to the creation of America. They were the heroes that gave the common man a voice against Britain’s taxation. They were a significant factor in creating our remarkable country. The Sons of Liberty believed in democracy and liberty.
“Tar him”, said the sons of liberty. You see the sons of liberty were not the heroes they were fanatics. They were responsible for many violent acts that harmed not just the British but also the colonists.
Patrick Henry would rather die than have no liberty he even stated “give me liberty or give me death”. Benjamin franklin was also on the fighting the British side. He said that they must make

Ellis focuses on what he believes to be key historical moments that happened in the infancy of the newly independent American republic. Ellis has asked us to, when examining these stories of the revolutionary generation, “be nearsighted and farsighted at the same time.” (p. 7).
Even before the fateful Revolutionary War, many men knew of the inevitable destiny that the they will soon have to face. In the novel,“Founding Brothers The Revolutionary Generation”, written by Joseph J. Ellis, tells about the founding brothers and their struggles to overcome their most difficult challenges toward uniting their country. It goes into detail about the six crucial moments of history that led to the historical war. Emphasizing the importance of Hamilton, Burr, Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Adams, and Madison, the people who founded the Revolutionary Generation. There are many hidden themes within the text such as teamwork, honor, friendship, lineage, slavery, history,destiny, and veracity.

Those people believe that they were fanatics because they did things like manipulating people and refusing to pay their taxes. Those people believe that the Sons of Liberty could've done something less drastic to show that they wanted to be free from Britain's rule. However, if the Americans really wanted to be free and have their say (may I add that they did) they would have to take extreme measures to be taken seriously by the British because during that time, England was the most powerful country. To do things like manipulate people, they did that so they could find a way to have freedom or to undermine England. Also, the Sons of Liberty didn’t pay their taxes because England set the prices so high on taxes so they could pay for the expenses that they spent for the French and Indian War.
The majority of people during the American Revolution fought for liberty without realizing the actual cost and brutal reality of war. In the novel My Brother Sam is Dead, the Meeker family consisting of a Father name Life, a Mother named Susannah, a rebellious teen named Sam, and a conflicted teen named Tim, journey through the life of colonists owning a tavern during the Revolutionary War. Sam departs from his family to fight alongside the Patriots going against his Father, a Tory. War brings a lot of terrible things, but some examples are families splitting, clash of generation, and an overall theme of principle vs reality. The soldiers who fought in the war thought they were fighting for liberty, when really they caused havoc and awfulness.
I feel that the way patriots treated the loyalists was cruel and unjust. In the beginning of the Americas, everyone living there followed the king and what he had to say and what he did. They were all British and proud of that. So even if some things went bad and not everybody agreed, the loyalists were still proud to be British, which isn’t a bad thing. The thing that is bad about this is how the people who were no longer wanting to be British treated the people who did.
Andrew was a strong believer of what they stand for and always participated in their meetings and peaceful protest. The Sons of Liberty started only about a few months ago, however they are already playing a major role in battling against the Stamp Act. They take the protests of the British taxes to the streets, where they burn decks of cards, newspapers, magazines, and legal documents. The Sons of Liberty use intimidation to get the tax collectors to quit their jobs. Not only has the Sons of Liberty taken action, but so has others colonists.
The big Issues To overlook the significance of rather trivial and simple tasks as well as phrases can be a normal occurrence. Imbedded in many of these tasks and sayings can hide profound meaning and symbolism. Often times these doings, which can hold great meaning, are demonstrated by an unlikely group in society –the adolescents. In the short essay “My Children Explain the Big Issues” written by will Baker, he confirms this phenomenon’s presence through stories of his own children.
Paine believes we need peace in our future. “We’ll give me peace in my day.” Not a man lives on Earth that believes separation must take place, the generous parents state “If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.” (Pg: 252 lines 35-36). Paine believes, “If they go to war now his children and grandchildren will have peace in the future.”
The Sons of Liberty became known as a patriot group founded in the Boston colony. They formed before the American Revolution and independence from Great Britain, known first as the “Loyal Nine.” The Sons of Liberty protested unfair taxes imposed by the British crown, terrorized British colonial authorities and contributed to the start of the American Revolution. The objective of the Sons of Liberty was to stop implementation of the 1765 Stamp Act by any methods including viciousness.
Furthermore, they have abused their power and have attacked us and even in some cases people have died to their hand. For instance, during a protest in Boston, the Redcoats fired and massacred the people. Wherefore, after all these things were happening many people’s loyalties to the King were slowly dispersing.
In fact, most people believe that the Sons of Liberty were very deceitful, and destroyed economy in Boston, as well as property. To further prove the point that many people dislike the Sons of Liberty, the British soldiers often referred to the Sons of Liberty as the “Sons of Violence” to give them an inauspicious reputation. The Sons of Liberty even had the audacity to defy the king, which was seen as treason back then. However, the outcome of what the Sons of Liberty fought for, far outweighed any wrongdoings they may have committed. The Sons of Liberty were fighting for a sapient cause which was the liberty of the colonists.
