Star Wars is an epic space opera film series created by George Lucas, which includes galactic battles, theatrical adventure, as well as chivalric romance. The music, mainly composed by John Williams, gives depth to the storyline and is something that fans of all ages will always remember. The specific Star Wars movie that I have chosen to analyze is Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, which was released on May 25, 1983.
The character, Luke Skywalker, in the film, “Star Wars: A New Hope,” clearly represents the Medieval Hero characteristics. Luke is a good moral character, he follows the code of chivalry, and he does not have a royal birth. The first piece of evidence is Luke follows the codes of chivalry. For example, he serves the liege/lord, which is Princess Leia, in valour and faith. He courageous followed the orders of Princess Leia.
I don 't approximating that. Every movie, I worked very hard on the road to make them poles apart. I ended them completely poles apart - different planets, different spaceship to construct it new." While talking to Rose with reference to how to a great extent he treasured the films he created and four of which he directed even profession them his "kids" — Lucas said he "sold them to the white slavers with the intention of take these things, and ... " Lucas did not finish his thought, but rather laughed earlier than Rose stimulated on to another question.
Once the hero has received his Call to adventure, like George Lucas’s Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, they must go on to face their first challenge, the threshold guardians, which ultimately challenge their will to take on the burden of the task. For young master Skywalker, the threshold guardians come with guns. Shortly after young Skywalker receives his call to adventure, from R2-D2, the little droid disappears. When Luke finally locates R2, a group of warriors called Tusken Raiders strike at Skywalker, knocking him out. The sand savages scavenge through Luke’s vehicle, until Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives scaring off the savages, saving Luke.
Many people have heard of Star Wars, and The Odyssey, but have they ever thought about how the two are related? The Odyssey an epic poem written by Homer and the scientific movie Star Wars directed by George Lucas, have countless times when the two share things in common. In Star Wars the main character Luke Skywalker meets a mentor, two sidekicks, and comes from an unknown background. In The Odyssey the main character Odysseus meets his mentor, sidekick, and comes from an unknown background. These two items have many similarities and many different, but here are a few of the similarities.
For the visual effects that were needed in the movie he established ILM (Industrial Light & Music) as well as Sprocket Systems, later known as Skywalker Systems, to edit and mix the movie. Star Wars was turned down many time until it was finally picked up by 20th Century Fox (“George Lucas Biography” par. 1-3). “Lucas agreed to forego his directing salary in exchange for 40% of the film's box-office take and all merchandising rights.” (par. 3).
For example, Jaws was the first film that featured a new type of insane character, the giant shark. “Jaws changed the face of American cinema, influencing the next generation of filmmakers to eye summer release dates, high-concept ideas, easy marketability, teaser trailers, TV spots, media junkets, merchandising, and the almighty dollar” (Stephens). In summary, the movie itself brought about many changes, but the shark dreamed up and created by Spielberg inspired new subjects and characters in other future films. Without Jaws, the film industry would not have chased after these new ideas and concepts like having an enormous shark as the main character. Furthermore, Spielberg was one of the first to bring aliens into a motion picture and with that came inspiration.
Today was hot. Not just any kind of hot, but extreme temperatures soared high on the planet of Tatooine where water was scarce. Luke Skywalker, a blonde haired and blue-eyed boy, with lots of energy lived with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru on a moisture farm in the middle of a desert. Not only was today hot, however Luke’s life, as he knows it, is about to change right before his very own eyes. Luke can be classified as a hero under Joseph Campbell’s ten characteristics of a mythical hero because throughout his life, Luke illustrates each characteristic on the vast journey he partakes in to topple the Galactic Empire.
Star Wars has pieces of mythology, symbolism, historical references, and religious tales woven so deep into the story that they have become essential in order to tale the story. The main stage of the Star Wars franchise is its Hero’s Journey and the challenges and lessons the characters face before achieving their goals. The franchise follows the story of Anakin Skywalker and his son, Luke. Both father and son start out living ordinary lives.
There was a little movie that way released on May 25, 1977 called Star Wars. Following the first movie was two more The Empire Strikes Back, 1980 and The Return of the Jedi, 1983. Sequel fatigue is a popular condition, for years now the highest grossing films have been either sequels or franchises, and the elitist spits out the word Hollywood as a metonymy for all that is wrong with the artless entertainment industry. They have point: Hollywood is an industry and the bloated gatekeepers are fiducially bound not artistically. Their primary concern is what sells, and that makes them rather conservative, banking on things that resemble things that sold before, hence the glut of sequels and franchises, but also more insidiously the torrent of passable “safe” films: demographic pandering by the numbers, relying on formula and cliché. These films can still be well crafted like Marvel3 instalment Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
Even though Star Wars proved to be one of the most lucrative films in cinema history, it was the merchandising rights that made Lucas the wealthy man he is today. And with that kind of clout, nearly 40 years later, he was able to parlay Star Wars juggernaut into the sale to Disney.
A number of people were not happy about the Star Wars prequels. I was one of them but I did go see all three at the theaters. Let me speak on Episode II, Attack of The Clones because this will bring focus to what I post later. The major plot in Episode II was the Separatists moving the galaxy towards war and the Republic were debating on forming a “Grand Army of the Republic” to engage the Separatists.
First of all, I believe that the Star Wars saga have transcended through generations due to the fact most people from age 80 to 4 know about the
