Per reporter: Jakayla has been at the Washington Detention Center since 3/15/18 for allegedly stealing money from mom (Tamara). Reporter spoke with Jakayla today, 3/16/18. Jakayla said in December 2017 she had sex with Samuel. Samuel was 16 at the time. The sex happened at home and mom caught then in the act. Days later she learned she had an STD and mom took her to get threated. Since then Samuel has tried to reach out to Jakayla via phone or social media. On, 3/15/18 Shermar (Samuel brother) came to the home, wanting to have sex with her. Jakayla did not intend to have sex. Mom found out he was there and she did not let him come in. Jakayla wen tot the home to use the phone. Brodrick closed the door and tried to unbutton her clothes. H pushed her down and kept her from getting up. He hit her in the chest area and across the head with his fist and knocked her out. When she gained conscious she ran out the door. She noticed her pants and blouse were unbutton and she had to put her shoes on. Mom took her to the Leland Police Department. They call the paramedics to take Jakayla to Delta Regional Medical Center due to the injures on her chest and head. Jakayla believe she had a rape hit done. Brodrick was arrested and he bonded out, it is unknown his court date. Reporter called mom and she confirmed the incident, mom did not know the court date. Jakayla said Leland Police has not done a follow with her nor has she spoken to a social worker. Jakayla said at the age of 3 she was raped by mom’s boyfriend Fernando. He touched, fondled, and raped her. The information was learned when she started head start and had to have a medical done. He mom lost custody of her and her sister Jahkya for 4 years.
