What is scientific curiosity? When we think of scientific curiosity, it is often associated with animal and human experimentation to discover new heights. According to Sarukkai Sundar, scientists attempt experiments because it give them excitement “ the pleasure of discovering something new, satiating curiosity, engaging with something beautiful”. People in the world, most notably doctors have the highest track record of executing illegal experiments on animals and people, some doctors have used their title as an excuse to pursue their own motives. Throughout time we have had story about scientific experiments cases. One story for example is the book The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, a man Dr. Jekyll says “I saw that, of the two natures that contended in the field of my consciousness, - I had to learn to dwell with pleasure , as a beloved daydream, on the thought of the separation of these elements- even before the course of my scientific discoveries had begun to suggest the most naked possibility of such a miracle” (Stevenson 43). According to the quote we can suggest that Dr. Jekyll is searching for a miracle to separate his two persona’s evil and good for personal reasons. People in the world can interpret Dr. Jekyll actions as a means of evil or good. Imagine a world where we could replace stem cells and create artificial organ, a world will no one will die. In article The Legacy of the Hwang Case: Research Misconduct in Biosciences, “In 1999 he(Woo-suk Hwang) announced that he had successfully created a cloned dairy cow, and few months later a Korean cow”. According to the quote Mr. Hwang was able to create an exact clone of a dairy cow with his research on stem cells, meaning that if the cow’s original donor were to be injured they could use the cloned cow organs to repair original. In other words using human stem cells and merging with an animal embryo so it can survive on its on living like a baby in a fetus. The question you may be asking is why not just keep the clone instead of healing the original? Well, from Mr. Hwang experiments the embryo was only able to last anywhere from three to five years.
