The book The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is told mostly through the third person point of view. It follows the character Utterson, who is trying to solve the mystery of Jekyll and Hyde. Since we follow Utterson throughout the whole book, why not just write it in his point of view? Out of the 10 chapters in the book, eight are in the third person POV and two are in the first. The two that are in the first person POV are the last chapters. The first one is Lanyon’s POV; the second switches to Jekyll, retelling the entire story how he saw it.
