As we all travel through life, we tend to experience many obstacles along the way that will cause a significant emotional reaction within you, whether if it was a painful, harmful and positive or a negative experience, we endure all of these emotions throughout our lives that mold us to the person we are today. With all this being said, I a person who carries my emotions wherever I may go and it is something I will never part with. Along with my emotions, I also carry the required items I need on a daily basis and the item that I hold a great deal of sentimental value to. We will always travel through life with different items, whether if it is our emotions, the items that we require to carry on a daily basis and the items that hold a sentimental value to us. Will always be with us. Giving us the sense of securement and the ability to move forward with our lives. There are some people who believe that having or showing any kind of emotion is an inconvenience. This of course, is not true. A person not having any emotions would make them inhuman of course. When owning sentimental items, it is imperative to never lose it and always take care of it because it gives an inspiring glimpse and momentary remembrance of the past. O 'Brien illustrates, how Lieutenant Jimmy Cross carries varies reminders of his love for Martha, one of those items is the good-luck pebble that she gave to him. "It was a simple pebble, an ounce at most oval-shaped, like a miniature egg" (117). An item that I wear with me at all times is a worn out gold ring. This is a ring that my grandmother gave me before she passed away and holds a great deal of sentimental value to me. It reminds me of the great memories I had with her, the way she was able to make me laugh, and how she was there for me, even though she lived in California, it always felt like she was always there right by my side.
