Throughout the century there have been amazing science fiction novels. But there are 3 that stand out between the 1800 's and 2015. the three in mind would be, in chronological order, "The Time Machine" by H. G. Wells, "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury, and "Unwind" by Neil Shusterman. Each a wonderful sensation of energy and adventure, and dystopian worlds. H. G. Wells was one of the first Science Fiction authors. In his book, the Time Traveler is lonely and sad and no one believes in him. He makes a time machine and tries to show his comrades. Looking for approval and praise the Time Traveler shows them the model. They all think that he is insane and stupid for making a time machine. he would right the most beautiful novel about a horrible dystopian society, that burns books. As Guy is walking he notices something very strange :"The Autumn leaves blew over the moonlit pavement in such a way as to make a girl who was moving there seem fixed to a sliding walk, letting the motion of the wind and the leaves carry her forward." (Bradbury, Ray. Fahrenheit 451. New York ;Worl Editions, Inc). This quote foreshadows the coming of change soon to occur in the novel. This changes Montag because it shows that it is time for the seasons to change. When seasons change it causes a change in time in a book. When the Autumn leaves blow it is showing that change is coming soon. That Clarisse is coming to change the world. Clarisse comes into the picture and disrupts the balance of this dystopian society. Another example of this would be one symbol in William Goldings novel "The Lord Of The Flies". The Island represents hell in the novel, people say that a great representation because it turn little boys into savage beasts. When Jack kills the pig and makes it a symbol of the lord of the flies, the island uses the opportunity to drive one character insane, Simon. This shows that setting can change any character in any environment that they are in. The interpretation that comes to mind on science fiction would be one simple definition. Science fiction is the fantasy of despair and mystery of things that possibly could be or will be. A reality that is make believe but part of scientific thoughts or discoveries that authors take in for inspiration. Man will take his wife and multiply and after decades and centuries there will be many more great science fiction
