In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo’s death scene helps illuminate how fate controls the play. In this tragedy, Romeo kills himself because he believes that Juliet is dead. Juliet then wakes up because she isn’t dead, she had a sleeping potion. Romeo’s death leads to Juliet’s death because she sees him dead when she awakens from her sleep. Since, both Romeo and Juliet are dead, that is the catastrophe of the tragedy.
