“Two households, both alike in dignity (In fair Verona, where we lay our scene), From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life” ( Shakespeare, prologue, page 1 lines 0-10). That was talking about the suicides of Romeo and Juliet and the person I hold the most responsible for their deaths is Romeo. Ihave three main reasons why he is the cause of his and juliets death. They are first off he is moody teenage and evey one knows that you cant trust thoes people. Second he makes impulsive irrational decions. Reason one to support that is the first of many bad choices he makes is threatening suicide because his first love interest rosaline isn 't interested in him so he decided that if he couldn 't be with rosaline he would be better off dead. Next is that he married Juliet at first sight, marriage is a life changing decision that should not be made within the first couple hours of knowing someone (he proposed somewhere around two hours after meeting Juliet). To argue for this one might say it was his fault because he allowed Romeo and Juliet to get married even though their families were arch rivals, also you could say it was his fault because he gave the sleeping potion to Juliet and did not tell Romeo she was only sleeping. While those are good points friar Lawrence wasn 't the one who made Romeo and Juliet get married it was their choice. furthermore it wasn 't his fault that Juliet drank the sleeping potion Juliet had free will like any human and it was her decision to to drink It. Finally Friar Lawrence didn 't need to tell Romeo that Juliet was only sleeping because anyone I mean anyone could tell that she was still alive because she still had color in her cheeks. So no finish up Romeo was was the biggest cause of his and Juliets deaths because one he was only a teenager, two he like any teenager made impulsive irrational decisions, and three he was a very emotional person who let his emotions get
