Robert Frost once said, “He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.” ― Robert Frost. This quote explains that if someone does not learn to be courageous in life when the situation is risky, that individual will accomplish very little that one desires in life. In “The Friday Everything Changed” by Anne Hart is about a girl in a small school in Nova Scotia, Canada who stands up against the boys who mistreat her and others. This shows that Alma is willing to stand up for the change in allowing girls to carry the water buckets, not just the boys. In “The Transcript of Full Joseph McNeil Interview”, Joseph experienced unfair treatment because of his race. He wanted to make a change, so he did. As they walked in to eat, Joseph and others, “were told by several people that if [they] continued to sit at this lunch counter [they] were going to get into a lot of trouble. And [they] advised the store and its employees and its manager that [they] intended to sit and to continue to sit until they served [them]”(10 Newsday). Joseph and his friends were not happy with the way they were treated, so they said “we continued to sit”(10 Newsday). They wanted to get served, and they knew if they moved they would be getting served in other parts of the diner. Because they wanted to be treated fairly, they made an act of courage and stayed.
