The key issues behind the toxic relationship between many African-Americans and the police, are the police pulls over African Americans (males) because of their race. I don't think it’s more so African American itself its males period. If an officer see African Americans in a white neighborhood, the officer will stop that person and ask them to come to the car, and search them and ask what are you doing in this neighborhood? I have seen it done before and it's sad. They will do it to any race, the same why if they were in an African American neighborhood. They will harass them as well, so I don't think it's because of the skin color in most cases but it is sometime. It's very unfair the police judge someone by the color of their skin. It's very sad because it is happening on a daily basis and no one is trying to fix the problem. I also think the racism still lives right now today. I think changing policies won’t change all the problems, but looking at those policies is definitely a step. There needs to be a new level of understanding between the public and the police that, I think will only come if attitudes change and people are willing to move past the negative aspects of the past. I think body cameras would be the best solution for most of these issues. If every officer has a body camera, and there was no way for them to delete the footage, these polices officers would be forced to stop using excessive and deadly force when necessary. The body cameras would encourage police officers to conduct their jobs and duties lawfully because anything done unlawfully would be caught on tape. My opinion when it’s all said and done the only problem can be solved is if people of all color, obey the law and the police officers. I feel that African Americans lives has been taken away from black on black crimes, that they start to blame it on the police officer for treating them unfair. When someone is in the wrong, no matter what color, they need to be treated equally. I also think a lot of officers need more training, and have a superintendent follow officer sometime to make sure they are fulfilling their job duty and not taking advantage of being a
