Roller coasters are a great thrill, but Cedar Point has Kings Island beat in many areas. Cedar Point is a better amusement park than Kings Island, because it has the biggest rides, has more world records, and has a greater variety of rides for everyone to enjoy. Cedar Point is home to the tallest roller coaster in the world, the Top-Thrill Dragster. This monster is 420 feet tall and reaches speeds of 120 mph, that’s 190 feet taller than Kings Island’s ride and 40 mph faster. In just over three seconds

In my book, A storm too soon, the rescue story of the crew of the Sean Seamour II, a 44 foot tall sailboat that got into a drowning hazard and sank during a storm 225 miles off of the coast of North Carolina. The hazard level of this storm was not known very well, while the crew didn 't even know what was going to happen. A very vicious and terrifying storm was headed right for them, but it was going to be worse than they thought. Soon, 80-foot waves started crashing into the area of where the boat was sailing, Captain JP Lutz, Ben Tye, and Rudy Snel were all prepared to access the lower deck of the boat where they would be safe.
“I just remembered while running to the bathroom, the windows all blew in and the second my dad closed the door everything went to grey. No idea how long after that I regained consciousness, but I finally woke up in the rubble of the house and everything was just gone” said by Scott Offerman as he recollects horrific memories of the day his house went up by the Plainfield tornado of 1990. On August 28th, 1990 an F5 tornado had blown through Plainfield, Illinois with no warning or sirens. Scott Offerman’s family wasn’t the only family to lose everything they had that day, hundreds of stories could be told by families as many were affected. After the Plainfield tornado of 1990, many weather researchers had looked into why no sirens or tornado
Rosalind Hursthouse has a very different opinion on abortion and does not relate it to the murder of children or the rights of women. Instead, she justifies it through what a virtuous person would do. In the case study with the Thompson’s, Hursthouse would relate it to the relevance of the familiar biological facts and how pregnancy is a known result of sexual intercourse. The fact that Linda’s fetus is four months old would not be of relevance in Hursthouse’s opinion as clear lines are not visible as to when the fetus is attached and developed. The main focus of Hursthouse would be to question whether the abortion would be a result of a person acting “virtuously or viciously or neither” (Hursthouse 474).
Acceleration is more important than speed when trying to make a roller coaster exciting. Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity; the act changing velocity; speeding up, slowing down and/or changing direction. An exciting roller coaster must include all of these; change in direction, speeding up, and slowing down. An example of how slowing down makes roller coasters exciting is that it adds suspense. Many people find that the point at which the roller coaster reaches the summit is the most exciting part.
You jump inside the biggest and longest coaster in the park, giddy with excitement. As it rushes to the top, it slows down, as expected, but instead of getting faster once
Although slavery was abolished, there was still segregation and blacks were treated poorly. A good example is Roll of Thunder. In Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry, there was no school bus for the black students. There was also a low quality school for the black students, with hand-me-down stuff from the white school. In order for the blacks to go shopping without being “hurt”, they had to go on a day-long trip out of town.
In the Iroquois Confederacy, politics were run through a Council. Richard Blanchard notes that the Council was in charge of the external affairs of the Confederacy and matters that were common to all of the tribes, but could not regulate the internal affairs of each tribe (9). The political structure of the Iroquois is very similar to that of the US Congress, with a two-house legislature. The representatives from each tribe were called sachems, and though the sachems were men, powerful women in the tribe chose the men to represent their tribe (Blanchard 10). The sachems from the Oneida and the Cayuga tribes met in one house, and the sachems from the Seneca and Mohawk met in another.
Dragons, witches, princesses, and knights. These are the imaginary friends in so many children's lives. For young adults, those fairy tale characters give way to darker characters and more realistic situations. However, what do they all have in common? They all live in stories.
Will you escape before the light dims out? Imagine this, you can travel at any speed you choose. This is now possible in this modern, and strange new roller coaster. Imagine a roller coaster that goes from water to track. Wouldn’t that be fascinating?
The operator then repeated the same facts as he did the last group. “You will first take a 30 second ride up to the top of the 230 tower. Then, suspended at the top, you will be dropped at speeds of 70 miles per hour. Enjoy you ride on the Superman: Tower of Power!” The ride then roared to life as we slowly began the climb to the top of the
Science Fiction Stories Science can be something that you can come across in your everyday life. Science can make us think and have a imagination with what is going on around the world. There are many theories that can show that there are many things to be learned and tried in our lifetime. The things that I will be discussing are science and technology, The elements of science,Figurative Language ,The conflict, and the theme.
The purpose of this project was to understand how the elements of physics allow a roller coaster to function. By the end of this, we will be able to distinguish the energy behind a roller coaster and how the laws of physics allow it to stay in motion and guarantee the passengers safety, demonstrated
The Foundation of a Story In “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury, the setting is slightly peculiar. The story takes place in the future and the past. It begins and ends in the year 2055 at a time travel hunting business, however, the majority of the story takes place millions of years before, during the time of the dinosaurs. Throughout the story, the setting sets the tone, motivates the characters actions, and leads to the theme.
