Setting plays a very big role in the story 'Christmas 1910'. They are positioned in great plains far away from everyone and that is what causes her to be 'selfish'. With this living by herself with just family around grows loneliness within her. The loneliness factor, develops her character and cause her to want to get married when she sees a stranger at her home. Loneliness plays a big role in modifying the plot because it plays antagonist role in the story.
From the description the audience can conclude the mood of this situation, which is love, careness, and thoughtful. Buddy really wants to buy her friend a good present but cannot, so instead she builds her a kite, which shows that her present comes from her heart and she put a lot of time and effort into it. In the short story, “A Christmas Memory”, by Truman Capote, a boy relives his most memorable Christmas with his older cousin. During his story the old woman and him both develop strong developments. The use of character to character interaction and visual imagery is key to the suggested theme that the power of memory influences people to relive their lives. One of Capote’s major supporting tactics relies on the clever use of character to character interaction, even when inferred. A certain such example reveals itself early in the story, in which the narrator explains that his cousin calls him “Buddy, in memory of a boy who was formerly her best friend (Capote 1).”

The ghost of Christmas Yet To Come shows Scrooge how his life will end up if he doesn’t change his ways. The ghost shows him Scrooges own death and Tiny Tims’ too. Scrooge's name starts an argument in the Cratchit's house and has the feeling as though saying his last name is a burden. When the Ghost comes, Scrooge wants to change his actions after seeing what he saw.
A timeless theme defines a phenomenon that can be applied to and understood in any era of the human existence, whether it be demonstrated through consistent presentation, or the lack thereof. To say that if one is never satisfied, there will be no merry can be summarized in one word; contentment. Contentment is a concept that can be seen in all lives, possibly shown in someone who appreciates every small thing or one who has everything but always wishes for more. The latter can be seen in the character Ebenezer Scrooge in the story, “A Christmas Carol,” by Charles Dickens. The play of this title as well as the movie, “A Diva’s Christmas Carol,” both show how being content with what you have is important.
