Each character had a color theme assigned to them which developed the audiences’ attribute of that particular character. A minor character, Maurice wore white for a majority of his scenes which conveyed that he was innocence of the main plot. One of the antagonist Julian, wore browns and greens, which secured this character as unscrupulous and as a jealous person. The investigator Loren Visser’s suit was yellow-green, it produced a feeling of an agitated state of mind towards that character, and which amplify this character’s deeds and words. Ray and Abby’s costumes were a blue tint color.
During this film they talk about Technicolor and strip color. They were used when color first became part of the film industry. Color was a new thing and one that took a lot of time and energy. One movie that came to mind at the beginning of the film was Wizard of Oz and it was indeed mentioned during the film.
Soon after during the early 1930’s, the Technicolor Motion Picture Corporation released the first three-color Technicolor technology. This color process needed a unique type of camera that was able to split the image into three different sections of the film. In the novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum color is used to play a huge role and symbolize many things. One role color plays in the novel is how it is used to separate the different countries/factions. One thing color symbolizes in the novel is The Yellow Brick Road and the meaning behind it. Another thing color symbolizes in the novel is Emerald City and the meaning behind it. Baum uses color throughout the entire novel to play key roles and symbolize major poeple places and events.
Color is a huge part of how people view different emotions and feelings. For an example, when people see the color black, they may feel darkness and loneliness. Using color as a description in books can really help the reader better understand what the author is trying to get across. Color can mean so much more than shades and tints, it can show true meaning and emotion. It's proven that warm colors trigger thoughts of happiness, energy, and optimism.
