Homer’s The Odyssey, translated by Robert Fitzgerald, contains a man named Odysseus whose story can relate to soldiers in today’s military, and how Odysseus has to persevere to get home. Odysseus is a loving husband who goes to fight in the Trojan War. His son, Telemachus, is born shortly before Odysseus has to leave for the war. The Trojan War is a long fight that lasts ten years.
The Capitol in Williamsburg was a very important building in Colonial times. It was used as a, law school, a hospital, a court, a meeting place, and an academy. Patrick Henry gave his Caesar-Brutus speech there as well. The Capitol was the place where Virginia spoke for American Independence. A vote to speak for independence also took place here.

Just like Odysseus in the Odyssey, he showed a sign of virtue when he had the strength and courage leading his men into a dangerous journey. This does show he's virtue for exhibiting such strength and wisdom in his quest.

This essay comes from the odyssey written in the 7th century BC by Homer. Before he was lost at sea and missing for 10 years he was a war hero, he is the one who won the trojan war for the greeks with his genius idea of the trojan horse where they made a hollow horse that they stuffed warriors into and they gave it to the trojans as peace gift but after they celebrated and got drunk and fell asleep the warriors came out and opened the gates to troy and they killed all of the trojans and won the war.

Odysseus is known as a very honorable man recognized as brave, noble, and a hero in the Odyssey. He is described one way, but his actions are contradicting towards his distinguishable character. In Homer’s The Odyssey, it can be argued that Odysseus is too deceitful, narcissistic, and pretentious to be considered an honorable hero. To support this, I will be analyzing the use of the word “honor” in situations where Odysseus was described as a man with great honor by the gods.
