Chris McCandless was a young man who had a lot going for him. He decided to end his schooling and get rid of his life by leaving his life behind and hitchhiking all the way to Alaska and living off the land up there. Unfortunately this story doesn’t have a happy ending. Chris McCandless dies in Alaska, he was found in August of 1992 by a moose hunter who had found him inside an old school bus that Chris was living in. Chris died from eating berries that were poisonous and wouldn’t allow him to digest food causing him to die of starvation.

It soon becomes evident that John is the perfect trickster. The three main character traits that make him so good at trickery are his ability to be: charming, magical and devious.
St. Francis of Assisi was a man who sought peace from the world and tried to bring people together. He gave to the poor and even made a new order in the church, called the Third Order. He believed animals to be his siblings and would always preach to those willing to listen. However, he was not accepted by society when he preached that animals were his brothers and sisters.
Chris McCandless was never too thrilled over following and living by the rules his parent's imposed. He was always a rebel, following his parents' rules until he could escape to the wild. When they learned of their son's demise in Alaska, they were devastated at most parents would be. They didn't know that the last time they saw Chris, would be their last because of his intention to leave them. Upon Chris disappearing from their lives, they were angry but thought they would see him again.
Lone Survivor is about Navy SEAL team leader Marcus Luttrell and his team’s battle, Operation Redwing, that lead to the largest loss of life in Navy SEAL history. It starts out with Luttrell and his team heading to Afghanistan on a secret mission to find and kill an al Qaeda leader. Luttrell’s team included: Daniel Healy, Matthew Axelson (Axe), Michael Murphy (Mikey), James Suh, and Shane Patton. In March of 2005, Luttrell and his team join SEAL team 10, with Eric Kristensen as the leader. Luttrell knows that team 10 is “top of the line”(Luttrell pg. 184) and that they will face difficult challenges.
Chris, The Wilderness Hero Chris McCandless was a very heroic young man. In the book Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer he demonstrated independence, bravery, and youthfulness. Chris (or as he liked to be called Alexander Supertramp) was a young man who hitchhiked to Alaska to see what living off the wilderness was like. Chris was a hero because he inspired so many with his fearlessness with what he did in his life. Chris was a hero because he was fearless, brave, and independent.

McCandless one day had enough of he drama and set out on a journey. His journey would impact his life, as he was out of society and in the wild. His journey would lead to his death, but seemed like he achieved by living in the wild other than in society.
Another argument for this theory would be what Wheeler’s wife, Katherine Klyce, said in an interview with a Delaware news station. Kylce refers to the footage of her husband in the parking garage where people say he looked disoriented. She tells the reporter that “he was distressed, not disoriented… I don’t think he was acting that abnormal… I think he was afraid”(Kylce, Delaware Online). Everyone can identify themselves with a concrete culture and in every group there are numerous food dishes that satisfies one, or brings back peerless memories and feelings only they can relate to. Food itself has meaning attached to it, from the way it is prepared down to the ingredients used. Factors that influence food can be anything from practices and beliefs to the economy and distribution. Culinary traditions are important in helping express cultural identity.
