Would anyone like to win Sam Westing’s inheritance by finding the murderer? In The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, the heirs gather inside the Westing house to figure out the murderer. The Westing Game book and movie contains many similarities and differences that are worth exploring. The Westing Game has a girl named Turtle Wexler, that tried to find the answer to the game. The novel gathered 16 heirs inside the Westing house to find out who killed Sam Westing.
The Westing Game is a mystery book written by Ellen Raskin that follows the lives of sixteen heirs to a deceased millionaire's fortune. One character that goes through significant changes in the book is Denton Deere. Throughout the book, Denton Deere changes from a timid and anxious man to a brave and confident individual who helps others. One quote that showcases this change is, "I'm going to do it. I'm going to help Chris.
A lot of people turn to mysteries when they want something to read. The Westing Game, by Ellen Raskin, is a great one for all. The students at GLMS read it and then watched the movie. They were trying to figure out the answer to the riddle and they did. The Westing Game book and movie contain similarities and differences that are worth looking into.
My theory on The Westing Game is Flora Baumbach is the killer. I believe she is the killer because she was super excited when she found out Turtle was here partner (pg. 33). Her next victim could be Turtle for kicking her in the shin. She also would want to kill Sam because of his daughter's wedding.
In the mystery novel The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, the character Angela Wexler has changed a lot as the book progresses. A million dollar prize is waiting for sixteen heirs to win it by solving a wealthy man’s apparent death. The point of all of this commotion was to find out who Sam Westing is and to establish the identities of the sixteen heirs they should have had all along. Angela goes through a lot of obstacles throughout the book. She struggles to figure out what she is, everyone is used to thinking of Angela as a “pretty thing”, and she feels trapped about her beauty.
There are many different themes exemplified by Ellen Raskin throughout The Westing Game novel. An important theme in the novel is relationships. All of the heirs have different relationships with one another, but Turtle and Sandy's relationship was consistent until the end of the novel. They first met on page 7, where Sandy tells Turtle, Doug, and Theo a story about Sam Westing. Sandy and Turtle never connected then, but later in the novel they have the strongest relationship out of all the heirs.
The westing game had strong determined characters to become Sam Westings heir. The winner Turtle Wexler (also known as Tabitha Ruth or T.R) won and became Sam Westing heir. The game had a strong purpose and reason. All though the book and movie were alike and different.
“There are only two classes in the world: the hunter and the hunted.” This theme is expressed and questioned by the story The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. But is that theme in the movie? Both the book and the movie The Most Dangerous Game are both about a man named Zaroff hunting the ¨most dangerous game¨; humans. Though the book and the movie have the same general plot, the integrity of the story is affected by the many differences and similarities in the areas of the initiating event, characterization, and plot between the story and the movie The Most Dangerous Game.
Westing Game about these heirs and there are 16 of them and they are trying to figure out who killed sam westing . This book is a mystery and the winner at the end of the book get millions . How the person won was he or she found the fourth identity. Since there is a movie and a book version of the story there are both similarities and differences.
“Sell a country! Why not sell the air, the clouds, and the great sea, as well as the earth? Did not the Great Spirit make them all for the use of his children?” This quote describes when the colonies wanted to kill the American Indians that settled in part of America so they could expand east from west and colonize. Tecumseh says this because the great spirit didn’t make the country of united states for the Indian Americans, both elderly and infants to be killed and taken away from their homes.
My book report is on "Ender 's Game" by Orson Scott Card. Ender 's Game is a military sci-fi book that has received many awards. The author did continue the series on Ender, however the military aspect of it did not continue with the series. Ender Wiggins was only allowed to born so that he can save the human race from exstinction. Since birth he was a outcast, hated by his brother Peter, and constantly being hurt by everyone except his sister Valentine.
Kelly Link’s “The Cinderella Games” is different from other fairy tales referenced in the story because “The Cinderella Game” has an untold story inside. Link presented the story as a fairytale but as the story went on she gave the story a dark and twisted message. Even though, “The Cinderella Games” has multiple references to classical fairytales, according to Bettelheim it is not considered a fairytale due to the fact that it is missing a fairytale ending and a sense of fantasy. In normal fairytales, there is just a princess and prince and they all live happily ever after together but that is not the case in this story.
Jo Treggiari describes the reality of Lucy’s life in Ashes, Ashes and five other main characters created by Ellen Raskin from The Westing Game including: Samuel W. Westing, Berthe Erica Crow, Flora Miller Baumbach, Catherine Theodorakis, and George Theodorakis. This description of characters from the separate books is also a description of characters that are living in a society filled with specific rules. This supports the theme and how rules can make up a set of events that can lead to one big catastrophe that involves survival, and a game that can win five intelligent people a fortune created originally by Samuel W. Westing. The Westing Game is about a serious game with a set of rules that are specific and relate to the readings of Samuel W. Westing’s will. The game begins with a statement to all of the players saying, “The rules are simple” (Raskin 38).

Most people when they hear “The Most Dangerous Game” they think of bull riding or other dangerous games that don’t involve death. “The Most Dangerous Game” is a suspenseful cliff hanging story that follows the days of a castaway on the island of a crazed hunter. Rainsford is a big game hunter who falls off a boat near the island of General Zaroff, a big Cossack general who is looking for an alternative to hunting dangerous animals but with a twist. Throughout “The Dangerous Game” Rainsford and General Zaroff both show examples of IRony and exert arrogance.
