In the play “Romeo and Juilet” written by Shakespere the overall theme would be the powerful nature of both love and fate. Each charchter in the play plays a role in contributing to the theme of the play but Tybalt has the greatest impact on the theme due to his actions. In the play Tybalt yearned to kill Romeo but got into a brawl with Mercutio and killed him instead. Within minutes of Mercutio dying in front of Romeo, Romeo killed Tybalt. With Romeo taking this action Prince Escalus decides to exile Romeo from Verona also because of this death Juilet begins to reconsider her love for Romeo.

With Romeo being banished from Verona, he is now seperated from Juilet. When Romeo finds out he's being banished because of killing Tybalt he tells Friar Laurence he would rather be killed than banished …show more content…

Be merciful, say 'death'; For exile hath more terror in his look, much more than death: do not say 'banishment'.” (Act 3, Scene 3)

Romeo knew with his punishment he would not be able to see Juilet and declared death on himself. He is also afraid that Juilet does not love him because of his actions so he attempts to kill himself. But Juilet's nurse stops him and they agree to let Friar Laurence come up with a plan.

When Juilet finds out that Romeo killed Tybalt and is banished from Verona, she decides to vilify Romeo by referring to him as a “serpent heart, hid with a flow'ring face” she gets very fustrated.

“O serpent heart, hid with a flow'ring face ! Did ever dragon keep so fair a cave ? Beautiful tyrant ! Fiend angelical !” (Act 3, Scene 2)

She begins to feel that Romeo has
