Today we are given a privilege to make our own choices. Whether it is as simple as choosing what you want to wear, or what career you would like to pursue. Everyday we make these decisions unintentionally. If one day, this privilege is taken away from us, we would not know what to do and how to act upon it. It is essentially a privilege that every person in this world desires for. In America and the majority of this world, if we didn't have the option to choose our limitations and restrictions, this world would not be shaped like how it is, today. Every reader has their own opinion, on who or what’s to blame for the tragedy in Romeo and Juliet. However, in Act 3 Scene 1, as the result of Romeo's decision to get revenge for Mercutio, therefore killing Tybalt; led to the play’s tragic ending. “He is a kinsman to the makes him false; he speaks not true. Some twenty of them fought in this black strife, And all those twenty could but kill on life. I beg for justice, which thou, prince, must give. Romeo slew Tybalt” (3.1.185-190), though, in the case of Romeo’s choice of revenge Tybalt’s death was the consequence. Romeo’s punishment due to the path he took, was to be “exile[d]” rather than put to death, due to the fact that the death of Mercutio caused by Tybalt was before Tybalt’s death. With the unwise choices Romeo executes, “Thou wretched boy that didst consort him here Shalt with him hence. This shall be determine that. Romeo , away, be gone! The citizens are up, and Tybalt slain. Stand not amazed. The Prince will doom thee death If thou art taken, Hence, be gone, away” (3.1.135-141). This results into much more chaos and complication not only for her and Romeo, but the rivaling families, the Nurse, Friar Lawrence and many more characters, ¨For shame, bring Juliet forh.
