The phrase “recalled to life” relates to the theme of resurrection, because they both have to do with rebirth and revival of someone or something. In this book Paris is depicted as a city in the slums where the people are starving and treated poor. In the book a revolution is starting to take place. All of the nobles flee Paris, which lets the revolution to fully begin. Which can be called the resurrection of Paris.
