Some choose to talk to their acquaintances, while others choose to keep it to themselves--it is just a preference. In Monster by Walter Dean Myers one of the characters is on trial for felony murder. This sixteen year old’s name is Steve Harmon and he chooses to write about his challenges.

Messenger by Lois Lowry is a dystopian book about a boy who wants to be known as “The Messenger” so he does anything he can to deliver messages while the whole village wants the forest to be closed because they think it's dangerous. There are many themes in this book, but one of the important ones is: “Be Grateful for the things you have in life because you never know how long you’ll have them.” The story demonstrates this theme when Gatherer died Matty realized he took him for granite. Another theme in the story was “Be your own person even if you don't have things in common with other people.”
