Adapting to what we are giving
In the book Night, I think the most important theme is survival, the basic needs and psychological needs he needs to survive that he is missing. Going with the Maslow hierarchy they kept moving down in the needs to the bottom where they were not even giving the basic needs needed to survive and keep going. Where they are struggling with themself on not having what they need in life as humans.
With psychological needs, you need relationships and family and during this Ellie got separated from his family and only had his dad left, and he also encountered negative human interaction which he had to adapt to, to survive. ¨Men to the left! There was little space let alone air from anyone; they were all crowded together in a small space. They were not cared for in a way for safety, just didn't care and threw them in.Ellie described one spot they had to be in like this, ¨There was no floor. A roof and four walls. Our feet sank into the mud¨(Wiesel pg 38). That they were not given the proper shelter and sanitary needed for them as humans to keep them healthy they are literally barefoot in mud.This is using examples of what they are going through to show survival and they are pushing through and during what they need to survive and not get killed or just die.
