Philosophical Themes of Utilitarianism and Consequencealism In Vampires vs. The Bronx Everyone enjoys a classic good versus evil movie trope because of its “exemplary morals” where good always wins. Vampires vs. The Bronx is an action-packed 80’s kids flick with a big underlying agenda. This movie speaks on heavy subjects such as class warfare, gentrification, and racism, all in a short hour and a half. It begins in a small town called The Bronx, where a group of young friends face a formidable foe, the Vampires. The Vampires first appear as a typical example of the “upper class.” They began to slowly buy real estate in the Bronx, and as they did, more and more people started to mysteriously vanish. Miguel Martinez, a young but resilient teen, is the first to discover that vampires exist in his hometown and that they must be stopped before everyone goes missing. It takes some trespassing, dangerous stunts, and clever sleuthing to uncover the evidence needed to convince his friends, Luis and Bobby, of the vampire's plot to take over The Bronx.
