The article is written by Richard Fenno in 1978, summarizing the dilemma of congressmen in the contemporary time. The author was specifically discussing about members of the House, who always seek for reelection during his legislative career, as stated in the initial part of the paper. Fenno went on to propose the conflict in incumbent congressmen 's career: more attention for the Washington career leads to less attention for the congressmen 's home state. The Washington career required commitment to build up support within the House. However, focusing on Washington rendered the congressman homeless, or losing his home 's supportive forces.

Therefore as you can see Miller-Meeks is no stranger to her opponent and she clearly demonstrates that she is a fighter, who is not willing to go down so easily, even after facing off three times and having lost the previous races, Miller-Meeks has once again chosen to compete in the race for U.S. House Representative.
Throughout the whole investigation of the Gail Miller rape and murder case there were many wrongs committed leading up to the false conviction of David Milgaard. The authorities were pressured by the public and other groups to convict someone of this heinous crime and in doing so this action of theirs put an innocent man behind bars for twenty-three years. Right from the start of the investigation there were faults and incorrect procedures perpetrated by the police. The events that took place leading up to the conviction of Mr. Milgaard demonstrate just how sloppy the investigation took a turn when the police became lax in their investigational procedures.
During the analysis of Ted Cruz’s speech at Liberty University, the campaign committee used strategic setting, illustrated the American Dream and appealed to Christian values to successfully influence their audience to follow Ted Cruz in his run for president. On March 23, 2015, Senator Ted Cruz kicked off his Presidential Campaign in Virginia at Liberty University, where its socially conservative student body became a political powerhouse. According to Ken Cuccinelli, president of the Senate Conservatives Fund and former Virginia attorney general, Liberty has become a powerful organizing center for conservative activists; Liberty produces thousands of graduates who volunteer and vote for conservative causes. Cruz’s speech focused on the American Dream and the agenda of the Republican right, as he described his campaign as a movement of “courageous conservatives.”

Belonging to the democratic party, Wyden puts forth a large part of his time pushing for the democratic vote. His experience ranges from leading the Oregon chapter of an elder rights organization, to being a loud-speaking member of the U.S. senate. Through these topics, he informs the reader of his opinions regarding problems in American politics; the equality of people governed and the divide amongst political parties. To begin his discussion, Berry describes how everyone has to pick a side in politics. He discusses the lack of understanding of what it really means to be in a particular party by saying, “It doesn’t matter that neither of these labels signifies much in the way of intellectual
Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) is one of the longest serving and well-respected Republicans currently serving in the United States Senate and throughout her long-standing career as a politician, Collins has never taken a stance without thoroughly considering the issue at hand. This approach has set her apart from other more partisan politicians with Collins often voting across party lines when the need arises to do so. Time and history has shown us over and over again the power of words. Great leaders of societies obtain that magnetic pull with words that enable them to reach masses of people throughout the world. It’s all determined by how the speaker or the writer tries to convey his or her message and what they hope to achieve with their words. The Cuban writer, José Martí evidently establishes his political views through his written piece, “Our America”. Martí’s written work is manifested by his political choice of words and distinct approaches that speak to both his fellow Cubans and the higher nation that is the United Sates throughout his essay.
By restraining the influence of the government on daily life, the United States will be able to return to the great nation of freedom; a nation in which its founding fathers so vehemently fought to build. Similarly, politics should not be controlled strictly according to political parties, and Coolidge urged people to support the values they believe in, not a certain political party. In today’s world, I think many politicians would benefit from acting in the way of doing the right thing, rather than supporting sides merely based on political affiliation. For this reason, I am passionate about educating myself as much as possible to candidates beliefs, and I look forward to being able to take part in my first elections in coming
In recent years, the U.S. Senate has been embroiled in a countless number of filibusters which have a long history in the U.S. Congress. To supporters of the filibuster, such political procedures play an important role in a democratic society. They believe that the filibuster embodies the spirits of democracy to protect the minority from oppression in the United States. Reformers or skeptics of the filibuster, on the other hand, believe that filibusters sometimes severely hinder the operations of the government. Although people have witnessed many filibusters in history, the number of filibusters in the past few years surprised and infuriated many in America.

The practice of writing letters to congress is one that dates back to the earliest days of America’s history, but in recent years it has become arguably more effective and convenient to contact congress through email or a phone call. Nevertheless, writing letters is one method that will never go out of style. Letters or “snail mail”, as they are commonly nicknamed, are still effective because receiver of the letter can feel the effort the sender put forward to write and send it and, as a result, a bit more attention is given to the person’s
