Into The Wild Surviving is one thing, but burning your money and never seeing your family again is a whole other level. In the story “Death of an Innocent” by Jon Krakauer, the protagonist made a life changing moment in his adventure. This moment created a space between him and his family which ended up making him unable to see his family again. Throughout the story, the protagonist makes certain decisions in which are questionable and had the cost of losing his own life. Chris believes it’ll be unchallenging to survive off of short supplies within a few months. However, he was mostly idiotic because He led a homeless man into his parents trailer without their permission. “Once, he actually picked up a homeless man from downtown D.C., brought him to the leafy streets of Annandale, and secretly set him up in the Airstream trailer that his parents kept parked in the driveway” Page 10. Chris made a poor decision of letting this homeless man into his parents trailer without permission. He even burned his money to make his adventure more challenging and decided to hangout with hookers and pimps. Chris has made his life severely difficult in his own liking. He got rid of majority of his supplies in order to survive which causes him to die a few months into his journey. He doesn’t think about seeing his parents and his parents having to live with the fact that they will never see their son again. Chris had a very interesting desire of surviving in the wilderness.
