They Re Made Out Of Meat In An Obstacle By Terry Bisson

In this world, many individuals are brought up to false conclusions based on their physical or mental appearances. Although regulations play a big role in society, they do not put a definite stoppage to what a person can say or do. The subject of prejudice is vital when it comes to acknowledging an individual for the reason that it may cause the person to experience negative thoughts.

In Terry Bisson’s short story, “They’re Made out of Meat”, extraterrestrial beings question the abilities of meat, humans, by creating preconceived opinions. Rejections and assumptions are usually created when an individual fears and has a misunderstanding of the unknown. For instance, during the aliens' conversation, they were determining “do we really want to make contact with meat” (Bisson 37).
