The third domain of metaparadigm is health. Health is defined as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being”, by the perception of the client across the life span (Fawcett, J., 1984). The misconception of health that it only involves being disease-free. Health involves one's fitness as well as the correct nourishment of the mind. Nurses can also promote healthy living by improving their patients' condition and well-being. I strongly believe that an individual's physical body cannot reach its optimal health unless their emotional and spiritual state is being fully nurtured as well. Another example of promoting health education is by providing patients who are leaving the hospital with sufficient information about their illness and how to properly care for themselves in order to enhance their health. On the second note, nurses should promote health to individuals as well as to communities while providing a holistic approach. Hilderbrandt's theory covers the four domains of metaparadigm. She identified the person as members of the community as well as individuals. She identified environment as the community itself. She identified health as any health issues occurring or erupting within the community and lastly, she identified nursing goals as the empowering members of the community to be
