The topic of whether or not music has an impact on studying abilities is a conversation that many people have many different opinions on. In David Cutlers article, “Don’t Listen to Music While Studying”, he tries using evidence and reasoning to support, connect, and persuade his audience. In the article, David Cutler uses pathos and storytelling to connect with his readers. In the first couple of paragraphs, Cutler explains how he likes listening to music while studying also.

He maintains the sensation of a greater meaning within his expressive views of the present and future, but orates these philosophies through a casual tone. “…The left hemisphere will get a bit panicky and look beseechingly across the corpus callosum for assistance” (Pink 138). Through extended metaphors such as this one and informal sentence structures, Pink adds his own flavor into the novel without infringing on the motive of his work.
To survive in the world, it takes various skills and abilities that we have. We as humans use pure instinct and what we have learned throughout the years of life, consisting of what we know physically, mentally, and intellectually. Some may argue that physical capabilities are the most important aspect for survival, however research shows that emotional stability and intellect are much more essential. An essential ability for survival is emotional traits.
Music is more than that it’s something beautiful produced based on the musicians. For example when we play in class when you feel the emotion and the feeling of playing it’s just so wonderful. Music is the way kids and people show their emotions although even on a bad day we try to play well because we do not want to be the big mess up in class. Music to me is the beginning of my passion.
