Like many parents Thomas Black Bull’s are no exception. They shaped his thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Their actions led to who he was deep down inside. Even if it wasn’t how he acted on the outside, if you dug past all the anger and resentment you would find all the values and beliefs his parents taught him. This influenced the choices he made throughout his life. Thomas’s parents influenced his beliefs and behaviors when he was a young boy, a teen, and a grown man.
When he was just a boy, his love for the old ways that his mother taught him were the only reason why he left the wilderness. He blindly left following Blue Elk thinking he was going to teach his people of the old stories and songs. Only to find himself at a school. Confused
