1. In my opinion Gawande’s stance on experience is that everything about the process must be done fully, meaning that no steps in the process can be omitted to speed up the process. This allows the person, who has a drive to be an expert in something, to have enough time to become the expert. As Gawande states in his book, the only way to become good at what you do is to do it until you can no longer make a mistake while doing it, which take a significant amount of time, hard work, and dedication. In my own experience, this idea holds true. In order for me to become proficient in Sign Language, something I am still working on, I have to contently use it. Mainly, when I speak, I try to think of how to “say” the same thing in Sign Language. I
