Ultralight Beam- Kanye West The song itself, isolated from the album, is described as gospel rap; a beautiful combination of two totally unlike genres. A common as it is to sample non-relative genres in hip hop songs, Kanye takes a break from his typical themes to express his faith in the Lord and contrast and compare to modern socio-economical problems revolving around oppression and racism. He was originally known as only a producer. Kanye is famous for revolutionising rap music and the sound and emotion it casts, with his song Through The Wire, he demonstrates an unfamiliar phenomenon by using his own voice to create the songs electro backing. This was shortly after his almost fatal and infamous* (*infamous, because it inspired him to create the masterpiece, bringing attention to himself and the genre) car accident, that occurred when he was leaving a Los Angeles recording studio after a long night of recording. He collided with another car and escaped with the worst of a fractured jaw and it was required to be wired shut.
