In pages 1-34 consisted of Tina Fey telling her story about why writing this book. Tina Fey asks us why we chose this book. For example on page 3 she states, “If you are a woman and you bought this book for practical tips on how to make it in a male-dominated workplace, here they are” (page 3).“Perhaps you’re a parent and you bought this book to learn how to raise an achievement-oriented, drug-free, adult virgin” (page 3). Or “Maybe you bought this book because you love Sarah Palin and you want to find reasons to hate me” (page 4). In addition, “Perhaps you just bought this book to laugh and be entertained” (page 4). Tina Fey tries to find out why we chose this book and makes it a fun journey to hear her adventure as well. Tina Fey on page 5 states, “For me this book has been a simple task of retracing my steps to figure out what factors contributed to this person…(she shows by photos of her recently and a dorky grown-up woman in a short flower dress and roller skates saying, “secretly prefers to be this person” instead of the developing person she is now (page 6).
