Thesis - In these text To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee we see that as humans many of us criticize and look at colored people differently because of a certain image has been drawn of them.Many people and even colored people themselves sometimes believe that they don’t have the same power as other people because of their skin tone . Although throughout this nation there have been many examples of black people being treated unjust they are still people. All people should be treated the same and everyone has the same power.

Throughout the book you read a lot of action and events that have happened to the children and overall the whole town. The scene that really stands out and is the climax of the whole story is the court case. In this case we see Bob Ewell vs Tom Robinson ( a colored man). The story behind the court case is that Tom Robinson supposedly had raped Mayella Ewell, Bobs daughter,although throughout this court case, Atticus is showing sufficient evidence to prove Tom Robinson is indeed innocent, no one believes that Tom Robinson is not guilty. At the beginning of the story we see that the family is arguing a lot recently and this is due to the fact that Walter Sr. has died very recently and the family is fighting over the insurance claim of 10,000 dollars. Walter is trying to explain to the family that he could buy a liquor store and extend that money to make a profit. This leads to Mama putting down some of the money for a house. Although , she does end up putting down some money for Walter and the rest for Beneatha's schooling. The catch though is that they are moving into a white neighborhood opposed to an all black community and recently there have been many bombings to black families that have tried to move to a white community. Their worries turn, turn to reality though. Linder dialogue. Linder and everyone else in this white community want to intimidate and kick out the Younger family. Linder to me is an embodiment of what white people were thinking throughout this era and even now some people still have that mentality. Although he tries to say that this isn’t him that the people feel more comfortable with their own kind . Somewhere deep inside him, he doesn’t want the Younger family to live in his community because they are black and they see them as inferior.
