In Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird, topics such as social inequality, racial injustice, and moral growth are explored and demonstrated by the Finches, Tom Robinson, and Boo Radly. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, the finches are a very important family. The finches, mainly Atticus, present a strong perspective on the social inequality going on in Maycomb. By saying this it shows that Scout is finally seeing Boo Radley for the man he is instead of seeing him as the monster the rest of the town paints him to be. Scout has this moment when she finally comes face to face with Boo and sees for herself that he is not how the stories portray him to be. Earlier in the book Boo had been seen draping a blanket over Scout, “‘Thank who?’ I asked ‘Thank Boo Radley. You were too busy looking at the fire you didn’t know when he put the blanket around you’”(Lee 98). Although Boo Radley does not often speak, by doing this little gesture for Scout it demonstrates how he's always been there, even when he's not noticed. This action is a representation of his heart, he did an act of kindness while not looking for any praise or acknowledgement from it. While social inequality, racial injustice, and moral growth are important themes of To Kill a Mockingbird, they aren't necessarily the overall feeling of this book, rather they are all elements that build up to the overall theme. For example: social inequality is something that can also lead to racial injustice or vice versa, and once someone reflects on social inequality or racial injustice they may have caused them to have moral growth and typically try to get
