Dictionary states The birds which mimicry of the calls and songs of other birds are mockingbirds (Oxforddictionaries). However, in this novel, the mockingbird is not simply interpreted as definition of it. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus said that “Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird” (Lee 86). Furthermore, when Scout asked Miss Maudie about it, she said mockingbird make music for people to enjoy instead of eating people’s gardens and nest in the corn crib which are blue jays do (Lee 86). In the novel, Tom Robinson is a black man who charged with raping a white girl who is Mayella. To be specific, Tom Robinson usually came to Ewell’s house to help Mayella’s chores. On the day of the alleged attack, Tom says Mayella asked him to repair a door. During checking hinges, Tom realize that there is nothing wrong with the door. Also, he noticed that none of Mayella's siblings were at home. After that, Mayella asked him to get a box from atop the chifferobe, or a wardrobe. While he was standing on a chair to get the box, Mayella grabbed his legs. After he stepped off the chair, Mayella hugged and kissed him. At that moment, Mayella’s father, Bob Ewell, arrived and saw it. After that Bob threaten to kill Mayella. During Bob hit Mayella, Tom ran away because he was scared(). However, even though Tom is innocence and there is no evidence to prove Tom rapped Mayella, Tom charged with raping Mayella and he was convicted of rape. The reason why he was convicted is that he was a black man and he said he felt sorry for Mayella who is a white girl(). To be specific, In the 1930s, the racism was extremely severed(). At the beginning of the book, Boo was described as a violence man. However, no one in maycomb know about Boo because he never stepped out of the house in twenty-five years. Despite people didn’t see Boo, they made the rumor that Boo is a crazy and violence man. By contrast, Boo has such a kind, friendly personality. To be specific, Jem loses his pants on the fence as the children are running out of the Radley yard one night. When he went to back to retrieve his pants, Jem noticed that his pants were mended. The book suggest that Boo mended Jem’s torn pants. Also, when Scout was watching Miss Maudie’s house on fire in a winter night, Boo put blanket around Scout (Lee 69). Furthermore, when Jem and Scout got attacked from Bob Ewell during they came back home from Halloween carnival, Boo save them from Bob Ewell’s attack (Lee 257). Even though Boo never do people harm, people made rumors such that Boo is a heartless murderer or hideous monster.
