The Reign of Terror was not justified In 1789 the French Revolution upset a centuries old French applecart.The French Revolution began to attempt to form a new government, but Robespierre wanted to take it farther to a republican government. King, Louis XVI was having his troubles and France was in a serious debt because of expensive wars in Europe. Louis XVI called the Estates General, an assembly of 1,200 men, to help solve the financial crisis. The Reign of Terror was not justified because many people were killed, people's rights were taken away, and Robespierre did not achieve his goal of having a republican government. Many people were killed in the Reign of Terror because not everyone agreed on things. Many executions took places during the Reign of Terror. One person in particular was the king. He was executed by the guillotine. He was decapitated for doing nothing wrong. Anyone could say that they are a spy. Other’s could say that their enemies were a spy because they did not like them. Those people were killed because they were never a spy. Many of the french citizens were killed. A lot of the people's rights were taken from them and many of them were killed in Vendee which is the main area people were in France. …show more content…

The citizens did not always agree with Robespierre. Many of the people in Vendee rights were taken from them because they did not agree with Robespierre. There were also a lot of men that were drafted for the military not by their choice. All of the men that were drafted were not happy about it because it was not their choice to go fight. Most of the citizens though Robespierre was not taking the right approach. They thought he was not taking the right approach because he was going with all of the violence. The Revolutionaries were not giving anyone chances. The Revolutionaries was giving all of the people a chance to prove that they are not
