The story opened with a narration of the pilot of his childhood. Before, when he was six years old, he aspired to be a painter. He showed the adults his two drawings, the inside and outside of a boa constrictor swallowing an elephant. However, the adults discouraged him that profession and told him to focus on other things such as geography, history, arithmetic and grammar. He, therefore, concluded that adults never understand a point of view of a child. Then, he told a story when he met the little prince six years ago when his plane crashed on the Sahara dessert. It was odd for him to see someone in a desert that was why he immediately did when the little prince asked him for a drawing of a sheep. He tried to show him his first drawing, the outside of a boa constrictor swallowing an elephant, which the little prince understood without further questions about the illustration. The pilot has drawn three pictures of a sheep which the little prince rejected. He got frustrated, so he drew a simple box and told the little prince that the sheep was inside it. Then, the little prince said it was exactly the way he wanted it to be. That was the time when he became acquainted with the prince.
