To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a successful classic novel that was dated back during the times of racial inequality in the south. Because of the racial issues in a town called Maycomb in Alabama, a black man, Tom Robinson was falsely accused of raping a white woman, Mayella Ewell. Even though someone like Atticus, a lawyer and a father, might put his kids in danger for being his defense lawyer, he was wise to do it. Atticus taking this job opened up the eyes of the people in Maycomb. For example everyone knew that Tom Robinson didn’t do what he did, although he was declared guilty. Mr. Link Deas, Tom’s boss stood up in the courtroom and said “-That boy’s worked for me eight years an’ I ain’t had a speck o’trouble outa him…”(pg 261).
