Too Much Power In My Name Is Ozymandias

Ozymandias shows how power is temporary as shown through the imagery on the statue and irony of the phrase on the statue 's base.
First, this statues physical state is in not a very good condition. It seems to have been struck by something that has altered the way it displays itself. The traveler describes the figure as “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone” (Shelley line 2). The figure is missing the trunk implying that they 're only two legs standing and nothing more then that. This statue is on the brink of fully collapsing and ceasing to exist at all; while all of the debris on the statue become engraved in the sand beneath it. This statue is supposed to represent the power that this ruler embodies, but the statue is crumpling

Secondly, there is irony in phrase that shows on the statue 's base. It refers to Ozymandias being the greatest and all mighty. On the pedestal it says,” My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings” (line 9). He has this statue assembled to show his immense power, but yet this statue is shattered and sunk into the ground. This mighty statue is at a state of being no longer in existence. The high power of Ozymandias is represented in the great statue, but ceases to last crumpling his power with it. Next, it is precise that ozymandias believes that he holds all endowment, He says,”Look on my works, ye mighty and despair” (line 11). The ironic in this statement is that there is nothing to look at. The statue degrades through time and now is merely broken pieces that represent like that of a pile of garbage that means nothing. He talks about his high command, but it does not show through the physical state of the statue he leaves behind. His power expired off when he left the world. According to Victor, he believes that the words on the pallet of the statue are also ironic. He says that what reads on the pedestal are “ intensely ironic” (Victor. Paragraph 6). The words are there to show how much power this man once had, but in reality are looking at the state of the statue, there is no way of understanding the true power of
