In the 15th century, Spanish ships travelled all around the World carrying plants, animals, people, and goods. They had many tools that helped them navigate through the Atlantic Ocean. They also had different strategies that helped them make progress through their travels of the ocean. In the 1500s they had ships called Spanish Galleons that were run by crew members and the ship carried cargo from Spain and Europe to other lands. The Spaniards had many things to help them complete their voyages and accomplish their goals.

The Spanish went on many expeditions during the 15th century. One common term that every sailor knows is sailing "into the wind". When the sail is in a position that is slightly forward of the sail force, it makes it possible to sail forward when the wind is pushing back. The boat reacts to the Water the same way the sail reacts to the Wind causing the boat to move forward.
A Spanish Galleon was the ship that the Spaniards usually used when they were exploring the new lands and trying to find riches. Its average crew size depended on the size of the galleon. On the smaller ships there was an average of 50 crew members.
The bigger ships had a crew that could be made up of more than 400 people on the crew. They could carry 600 to 2000 tons of cargo on the ship. There was usually 2 to 3 decks on a Spanish Galleon.
In the modern day world it costs 10 million US dollars to build a cargo ship that carries 500 tons. In modern day world it costs 1,417.54 US dollars (1200 Euros) to travel from Europe to the United States on a cargo ship.
The Spanish people had many tools, strategies, and resources that helped
