In the general perspective, a majority of people have come to believe that success derives within the personality and motives of the individual. In contrast, Malcolm Gladwell alleges in his bestselling non-fiction book Outliers that success is spawned by god-given advantages and opportunities that may not be welcomed to others by fate. Gladwell presents us with crucial evidence, such as the individual’s date of birth, the 10,000 hour rule, and their IQ, which has been proved to significantly increase their chances of success. Gladwell’s theory of success is credible and alluring because it belittles anyone who has not fallen into a blessed lifestyle. He admires those who have been born with opportunities clouding their life.
Gladwell states, “Successful people don’t do it alone.” (119). No matter what people do there is not a time when they aren’t surrounded by factors that will affect them. Factors like society, wealth, or family can change your path to your future. Wes Moore became a successful man who achieved his dreams of becoming a Rhodes Scholar, honored veteran, and great leader.

One of the things that made him rise to the top of his career was his consistency. He kept to his music and kept honing his skills to match the changing times.
“How to Become a CEO: The Rules for Rising to the Top of Any Organization” written by Jeffery J. Fox is precisely the kind of book for someone ready to thrust themselves into higher positions in their company or workplace. I have a dream to one day be the CEO of my own real-estate company and I’ve learned many ways to reach that aspiration of mine through Fox’s 75 different “rules” to obtain CEO status. If I were to sit here and reverberate and summarize all 75 elements I would be about 10 pages in, therefore I’ve decided to take 10 of the rules I feel are most important then I will summarize them and apply them simultaneously to create a visual of how these elements come into play during the path of a real-estate agent on the rise. The first
John Waters’ rollicking commencement speech at The Rhode Island School of Design offered up some good one-liners and a few pearls of wisdom, though phrased, quite naturally, in an irreverent way. Ready for some sage advice on what really counts as wealth? And what career choices will make you truly wealthy? Mr. Waters has this to say
Success can come from many different variables, opportunities, and advantages. In Malcolm Gladwell’s novel, Outliers, Gladwell had popularized the theory that ten thousand hours of practice will eventually lead to success. Being the only factor, 10,000 hours of practice will not lead to success. In order to be elite and successful, you need other significant contributors in the equation.

The Myth of Social Mobility says as some of the wealthiest say there is no such thing as a “self-made man.” Every wealthy person with more millionaires making, rather than inherit, their wealth. There is a fake belief that they made it on their own with no help. Warren Buffet, the second richest man in the world said,“ I personally think that society is responsible for a very significant percentage of what i‘ve earned.” Erick Schmidt, was basically saying that he didn’t earn his money that it was given to him that he didn’t have to work for it, also that some people don’t have as much as him because they actually have a job and put work into that besides sitting around just getting paid.

Think of success like watching a tree grow the branches split into different paths one can take each split is another opportunity to prosper and grow beautiful leaves like trophies. An uncommon belief is that the process of becoming successful is like a tree branch, if one starts off strong, more paths appear growing from the sturdy branch, and achieving goals lead to leaves growing to show wealth. “It is those who are successful, in other words, who are most likely to be given the kinds of special opportunities that lead to further success,” (Gladwell 30). Author of nonfiction book Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell, agrees with this uncommon belief, in his book he argues that success does not come from intelligence or passion
