How to prepare for a track meet Only 2% of student athletes will move on to compete in division II Track & Field during their career. Track & Field is one of the oldest sports established and could even be dated back to 776 B.C., which is why it is also one of the most respected. Most other sports even though they might condition pre-season doesn't compare to the intensity of track, moreover they run a bit then it's back to drills or running plays. Every sport comes with its good and bad days which is why you must be prepared and develop a routine. Creating a mental and physical routine is essential for becoming successful in the hectic environment of a track meet. To be successful in anything you must first put forth effort both inside and outside of “the classroom.” This simply means just running alone doesn’t produce greatness, you must become stronger by lifting weights and doing ab workouts to set you apart from everyone else. The next thing to think about before the track meet is the weather. Once the week of arrives it is important to constantly check the weekend’s forecast to be aware of how to dress. This step is very important because this sport usually begins late January which is cold in most areas, so layering is a must. Since the uniforms are so revealing you must wear leggings and long sleeves under the given running attire. Now that the bag is packed and you’ve had a healthy meal it’s time for the night before
