2. Trade in the Modern World Roots is a well-known clothing/retail brand in Canada. There are 125 stores in north america and 100 located across Asia. Roots expanding into new markets allows for further company growth and lower labour costs. Founded in 1973, Roots has become a leading lifestyle brand . Roots started off with a single store in Toronto and grew into a large well known brand. New branches in locations such as Haiti create a whole new customer base which can be added to the company's growth. Introducing a new brand this new area it is seen as something different/new style thus attracting more people. In other parts of the world labour cost will be cheaper, for instance in Canada we have a minimum wage but that is not the same
