1) The way Trader Joe’s demonstrates effective planning and accurate management is by carrying out high quality products with low costs in a cozy environment.
The main organizing skill that Trader Joe’s managers have is finding unusual foods from around the world. They purchase and maintain a small stock of the products by directly getting in touch with the manufacturer.
They illustrate their leadership by hiring employees with desired job skills such as “ambitious and adventurous, enjoy smiling and have a strong sense of values.” They want to make sure that their employees provide a positive atmosphere not only for their customers’ but also for their coworkers. Trader Joe’s maintains a strict “one in, one out” policy. This is where the company gets rid of the products that are smelly or sell poorly. Their goal is to show to their customers that if they don’t like something that the store carries and sells they will stop ordering it. 2). Trader Joe’s is a great inspiration for entrepreneurs who want to start a new business in any industry. In order to do this, they use very basic lessons. This company shows entrepreneurs that it doesn’t take much to start a new company. The store can be a small corner store and eventually become a franchise. For a new business owner it is very important to understand that customer satisfaction is the main goal. Everyone at Trader Joe’s is friendly and genuine. Hazel is a 22-year-old college graduate who recently got hired at Trader Joe’s. Her job consists of supervising four team members who fill part-time jobs in the produce section. As a new hired employee it is very important for her to know that caring about their customers feelings is the most important thing. Trader Joe’s is a nontraditional work environment and the key for Hazel to be an effective supervisor is by helping others to achieve high performance in their work. She needs to learn how to inspire and motivate her employees. It is very important for her as a shift leader to boost her employee’s confidence and encourage them to work harder. As a new hired employee there are some things Hazel needs to avoid doing, such as being dishonest, being afraid to ask for help, being late and not engaging with other employees.
